Issue 74(1)

We are pleased to announce the publication of issue 74(1) of Archives of Biological Sciences, an open-access online multidisciplinary journal published by the Serbian Biological Society. This issue contains original research in biological sciences, such as examination of the spread of alien and potentially invasive freshwater snail species in the Danube River, bacterial metabarcoding analysis of mineral waters in Serbia, analysis of miRNA-lncRNA-mRNA profiles in liver tissue, as well as molecular medical research, including the investigation of gene polymorphisms in acute ischemic stroke, promoter methylation and treatment response in patients with chronic hepatitis, assessment of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients receiving intravitreal injections, the study of the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) caused by smoking and traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of COPD, as well as the molecular effects of an anti-aging chemical substance used in skin-care products.
